Description: This table provides information on perceived quality of life and future plansfor dairy farmers using different grazing management practices. When dairy farmers were asked directly to evaluate their level of satisfaction with their family's quality of life, graziers were generally more satisfied than other types of farrmers. Those who rotated their cattle once a day or more were more likely to report being "very satisfied" than were those who moved their cattle to fresh pastures less frequently or who utilized confinement operations. Grass-based dairy farmers also reported increasing quality of life and more positive assessments of their future in farming. Those rotating their cows once a day or more indicated higher levels of satisfaction and were most likely to expect to be farming indefinitely.
