Profitability Comparisons of Various Dairy Production Systems
August 2007 - Present

USDA-ARMS data from 2005 provides detailed information and an oversampling of Wisconsin dairy farms that allows for comparison of profitability, labor inputs, and demographics between organic, grazing, and conventional operations in the state. Additionally, the data allow for comparison across milking technologies such as parlor vs. freestall. The first round of analysis of this data will be complete in the summer of 2008.
